Hiking & Cross Country Mountain Biking are now open!

Hiking & Cross Country Mountain Biking are now open at Mt. Van Hoevenberg. Mt. Van Hoevenberg offers more than 30 kilometers of mountain biking trails that climb, dip, and twist through the pristine stands of Adirondack hardwoods and sky-scraping pines. Hiking is available on the trails surrounding the Biathlon Lodge, however no trail head to the summit of Mt. Van Hoevenberg is available.

The facility will not offer guided bike tours or expanded food service at this time, but bike rentals will be available both online and at the lodge. Additionally, activities on the sliding track, including The Chevy Bobsled Experience, will not be in operation this summer due to the construction of the new lodge.

Miles and Miles of Trails...

It starts with the arduously groomed 50 kilometers of skiing and snowshoeing trails carved into the picturesque Adirondack Mountains, but at Mt. Van Hoevenberg, there’s so much more.

You can test your resolve partaking in the intense biathlon, which sees participants race on cross-country skis in the winter and mountain bikes in the spring/summer through the trails to the rifle range for a marksmanship challenge that will push your abilities to the limit.

Looking for an experience that’s more leisure, less competition? We’ve got you covered. Follow the trails through the forest or get in some target practice at the rifle range at a pace your comfortable with year-round–no racing required.

With lessons and programs to sharpen your skills, a Nordic Terrain Park that tests your abilities, and Josie’s Cabin- a woodland retreat with food, drinks, warm fires and a rich history- there’s no doubt that a day at Mt. Van Hoevenberg is an experience you’ll want to revisit over and over again.
